Great, Great Grandpop Piatek
(Grandma Lorraine's Polish Grandpop)

He was born Wojciech (Adalbert, known here as George) in Poland (Austria) on April 5, 1890.
Died (Camden, New Jersey), October 21, 1961
He married Marzanna (Mara) Basara in 1912 at St. Joseph's Parish, Camden, New Jersey

His father (your great great great grandfather) was Marek (Mark) and his mother was Klementyna (Clementine). He was from Bedziemysl, Poland.

This photo was taken at his backyard, 1231 Jackson Street, Camden, New Jersey which was his last address. He lived at many addresses in Camden. I don't know what year this was, but I will try to find out.

(More info coming about her young life.)

He came to America from Poland (Austria section) in 1909. He came on the Grosser Kurfurst from Bremen, Germany. He arrived September 28, 1909 at Ellis Island and went directly to his brother Jan's, 1166 Ross Street in Camden, New Jersey. You can see that information on the manifest log below -- click to enlarge. He's entry #21.

He departed from Bremen, Germany on the Grosser Kurfurst Ship and arrived at Ellis Island September 28, 1909. His brother Jan also came on the same ship. You an see it below on the manifest log, Entry #23. They came from a little village in the Austrian section of Poland called Bedziemysl.

See entry #23 -- he came to Camden, New Jersey to stay with brother Stanislaw at
1045 Mechanic Street.

His brother Jan must have stayed somewhere else, with father's brother Jozef Pilarz? I don't get the name changes here. Must be brother in law. So great great great grandmom Klementyna must be a Pilarz. I will find out more about this.

I have more manifest logs and ship photos for brothers, that I will post here later.

He had 15 children:
